Pardon me…? But #1Password is backed by Ryan Reynolds, Matthew McConaughey and Scarlett Johansson?
“AI innovation has accelerated demand for better cybersecurity tools to counteract sophisticated and complex cyberattacks” so $400M in ARR?
Books are being cooked somewhere… right?

Just used a waterless urinal for the first time in years and they are still disgusting as anyone can imagine. 🤢
While cleaning a storage room, our staff found this tape containing #UNIX v4 from Bell Labs, circa 1973
Apparently no other complete copies are known to exist: https://gunkies.org/wiki/UNIX_Fourth_Edition
We have arranged to deliver it to the Computer History Museum
Noticed ssh was taking a long time to connect to a remote #Debian13 machine... checked dmesg and many errors.
Anyway seeing a core file in / I found that #systemd blew itself up. systemctl wasn't working enough to start/stop anything. Also couldn't cleanly reboot. I reboot -f and it is back to normal.
systemd dying on its own is lame. #linux #Debian
Really annoyed I need to add
:set mouse=
to my ~/.vimrc on #Debian 13.
Actually I think probably best to add it as a system default… sigh. 😮💨
I can’t believe this isn’t an onion article. Like I hope I’m wrong and this isn’t just a massive waste of resources…
Seems like total insanity though. #google

Wife and I were in the mood for some roast beef sandwiches so we bought some round roast, salted, and cooked tonight. Should be great tomorrow.

The DVD (1996) is now as old as the original 8-inch floppy disk (1967) was when the DVD came out.
Game 7 of World Series and Apple Sports be like “If Necessary” 😂

Resell value of wireless routers is pretty bad. I’m auctioning off on eBay an eero Pro 6. Right now the bidding has reached $16.50! I think it was $199 when I bought it in 2020? I can’t find the receipt - it was cheaper to purchase on a Black Friday special from Best Buy…
On #Instagram the comment section on this tired video uploaded hundreds of times from many accounts is always a treat: people discovering how #mayonnaise is made.

I sometimes will watch food and restaurant themed reels on Instagram. Often browsing #Oahu or #Hawaii to find new local places.
But about 90% of the restaurant “sponsored links,” aka advertisements, are for places like New Jersey, Utah, Michigan, Arizona, Boston, etc. I’ve never even visited most of these places!
So many ads on Instagram are extremely poorly targeted. Just setting money on fire. 🔥 I kind of feel bad for all these small businesses but 🤷🏼♂️
I would totally be onboard with #Neo doing chores poorly in my apartment. Vacuum, dishes, laundry, maybe making bed, fetching me a drink, etc? Heck yeah! Living with a first gen #autonomous #robot? 🫨
Privacy obviously a nightmare.

When I was a student at Cal State LA (2001?), I took an English class where we had to pick a new book and basically write an essay about something new we learned.
I chose “Stupid White Men” by Michael Moore. I still to this day am enraged over the chapter about recycling. The performative BS in that industry and lack of actual recycling was maddening. It was cities literally giving themselves trophies and telling constituents they were saving the planet.
I feel so old talking about a book written ~25 years ago…
Really nice feature that #Tailscale is adding. Can run your own relay instead of depending on their relays that can be painfully slow.

Went to Apple Store today to try the Dual Knit Band. The fit is really fantastic. But I won’t be able to get one until December. The demand is way too high? Was not expecting that…
