my #gotosocial install has a 13GB #SQLite database now. I don't mind but I annoyingly need to attach a bigger block device to my Droplet at #DigitalOcean. Time to migrate to a #RaspberryPi. Just need to order a M.2 or NVMe disk / HAT for it to use... although I do have an old Time Machine SSD that could work over USB-C? But... probably will draw too much power? 🤔

50GB attached storage in a Droplet is like $5/month 😤

@graves I’m running in DigitalOcean right now on the $6 1GB memory & 25GB storage. Media is going to Spaces (S3) and it’s in a steady state of about 220GB. The Spaces storage is pretty cheap.

If I switch to Raspberry Pi I’d use the NVMe HAT / Disk and I’d continue to use Spaces for media storage… that’s a built in CDN as well.

I’m not really convinced the #RaspberryPi will have enough power if I slap on a HAT and a 128GB NVMe disk. Hoping someone has one of these setups already. I’m looking at buying this:
