If you move away from Big Tech because you want more freedom, transparency and arbitrary platform decisions…
Can (not may) a platform like #Codeberg decide which kinds of projects are welcome?
Or is that the 1st step onto a slippery slope where today’s “obvious” exclusions become tomorrow’s subjective ones?
Where do you draw the line between responsible stewardship and becoming the gatekeeper you wanted to escape? 🤔
Just stacked 3 different receipt coupons at CVS to get snacks for free. 😎
I just rebooted into latest Debian kernel. I know 432 CVE’s were not listed in that last changelog… 😒

I've literally written my own homepage system of scripts/pipelines multiple times and that was the fun. The content is not anything I'm concerned with. It's the making the process: editor, picture uploading, cdn integration, forms for feedback, pipeline to reprocess, backed by sqlite/postgresql. etc.
This is why I currently don't have a homepage... the old one doesn't interest me anymore so I deleted it.
But the impulse to build again is coming. I can feel it. This time all deployed on Kubernetes. Maybe there will be layers of BS involved: Ceph, redis, MySQL, video processing, etc

#Codeberg did indeed vote to ban unreviewed or non-human checked #LLM git repositories.

Some of the crazy sick 💩 you see on r/offbeat over on #reddit really can make r/wtf seem like an amusement park.
Wife is making Korean spicy curry today for dinner and it smells so good. 🤤
Still has at least a good hour of simmering. 😭
TIL I can be annoying 😎 https://infosec.exchange/@Codebender_Cate/116958870292448593
I checked my AppleTV+ library and they also updated my prior purchase of La La Land. Ryan Gosling wanted the change so I don’t get the controversy? Isn’t it the artists call? #movies

I see the SFPD (or DA office?) is still not getting much done. Over the years since ~2004 I've had numerous colleagues and friends file police reports. I literally have zero people I know directly that had any kind of action after being a victim of crime. Zero. Most of the crime is just property damage like car being broken into or stolen. But when you read stuff like this… it’s just super maddening. When nothing happens with a property crime report you tell yourself, "oh they are working on something serious". nope.

Please bring this kind of crackdown to #Oahu. Thank you!

You think you’re anti-social? Christopher Nolan doesn’t have a phone, doesn’t text, and doesn’t email. https://people.com/christopher-nolan-still-doesnt-have-a-phone-matt-damon-exclusive-12021311
So because I am a British what moved to America, some British traits persist in me. For example, if we have a contractor round for any reason, I’m gonna offer them a drink - to include a cup of tea.
We had a guy come over to look at our dryer yesterday because it recently exploded. The look on his face when I offered him a drink. It was like I’d just offered to pay off his mortgage.
“Oh man, yeah please.”
My wife (American), thinks it’s such a strange thing I do.
America, we must normalize this practice. Become responsible for hydrating anyone who sets foot in your home.
Last night I had a dream I was at an #Apple Store and I noticed some dude came in to pickup his new Mac Studio. He looked at the box and noticed it was scrapped and so declined to take it and got a refund.
After he left the store, I quickly jumped over to the tech asking, "hey how much is that? maybe I'll buy it!". Apple guy was like, "about $12k" (note: this price is dream nonsense). Without thinking I immediately say I'll take it. All I could think about was oodles of RAM.
I get home, realize I never asked what the specs were and get worried... Open the box and realize it is a M5 Max with just 48GB of ram and like 8TB SSD. I was so pissed I woke up. Took me a good 30min to fall back to sleep I was so angry someone would buy 8TB of storage from Apple.
American-style #tipping are gaining ground in Netherlands. Glad our exports are making inroads… 🤦🏼♂️

Came across this #GoLang Dev mailing list post about #AI tool usage, and it seems a bit tighter(?) than the #Linux Kernel. In the kernel, they want attribution of the model and other metadata as a Co-Author. But in #Go, it seems they have a don’t ask, don’t tell policy. If an AI tool is used, they do not want any Co-Author line and will ask for it to be removed before merging.
Effectively, both projects are fine with AI tools being used, but attribution seems to be taken differently.

Still trying to decide if this is good, bad, or ugly. This #HomeLab setup is a tangled web of so many different things. Enjoyed the reading journey... #homeserver #selfhosting
