I was browsing #Reddit when I ran into this interesting post. Basically what brought you into #Apple ecosystem. For me it was a Power Mac G5. I was at a startup and a co-founder would always get the newest Apple #Mac when it was released. He unexpectedly gave me his in 2006 when the first Intel Mac Pro tower came out and he got one. Coming from NASA/JPL where I had a Sun Blade running Solaris for my desktop … I was blown away by the #BSD-ness of the Power Mac G5. It was like pure UNIX with actual ecosystem, applications, and vision.

Trolling still alive and well on #LinkedIn. 🤣

installing #swift for a new project on #linux. going to put this #raspberrypi to use

I got a jury summons. #Hawaii

Sorry but I’m going to eat my hotpot at the 5-10min mark. No way I’m giving up tiny hallucinogenic Smurfs running around for a week…

seems like the #raspberrypi is getting a huge grip of updates every week. glad it's so well supported. wish it was more powerful to do some more heavy lifting. #linux #homelab

You know it’s bad when this guy is raising alarms about Epstein.

just spent like 3 hours trying to debug a script and it ended up being an ENV variable i set earlier today and forgot about. 😑 #zsh

#WhatsApp just sent me a notification encouraging me to subscribe for $2.99/month? Huh? So I get exclusive stickers? 😑

I'm impressed how easy it is to turn a simple cli application into a brew tap. for those using brew (i'm assuming mostly #macOS) it is a one-liner

cli-toot test for commandline posting to #fediverse

After finishing #Chernobyl, I bought a Geiger counter, and I just wanted everyone to know that there are only normal background radiation levels here in #Hawaii. 😅

I’d be so pissed because flying is boring and I need to chill watching YouTube or something. This would be hell. ☹️ https://cosocial.ca/@mhoye/117077236393184392

my #gotosocial install has a 13GB #SQLite database now. I don't mind but I annoyingly need to attach a bigger block device to my Droplet at #DigitalOcean. Time to migrate to a #RaspberryPi. Just need to order a M.2 or NVMe disk / HAT for it to use... although I do have an old Time Machine SSD that could work over USB-C? But... probably will draw too much power? 🤔

50GB attached storage in a Droplet is like $5/month 😤

Half the plane is doing preboard.

Just 1¢ shy of $100k before tax? Wow 😮

The design reminds me of the #Apple Mac Pro. But this is purely #Linux at the moment.

Family visit is over in #California. Will return to #Hawaii tomorrow. Looking forward to being home soon.

Visiting parents and was watching “The Pitt” with my mom. Dad wanted something with more bite. We watched two episodes of Chernobyl and will finish tomorrow.

Very horrifying. But still enjoyable nonetheless. 🫣
