Renting since moving to #Hawaii, my landlord has me send rent via Cash.app.

It’s also extremely annoying as Cash.app doesn’t have great relationships with banks. I can only withdraw $1k at a time to Cash.app, so I need to do at least 3 transfers a month to have enough money to pay rent. I’d prefer mailing a check to be honest. (I’ve contacted my bank and they said there are no restrictions on their side …) 🤷🏼‍♂️

Nice read about factoring complexity using quantum computers. Here is a little factoid to hook you into reading: The difference in complexity in factoring 15 vs 21 is 115x. By complexity the author means greater than 115x more entangling gates. It is why a quantum computer has so far not factored the number 21. #quantumcomputing

Thinking about one of my last pre-Smartphone mobile phones. The #Nokia 6288. It was the pinnacle of devices for SMS as texting really took off. In candybar mode (folded up), you did T9. But it opened to a full QWERTY keyboard. The phone also did pre-3G internet (dial up speeds) over Bluetooth.

It was the only time I had a phone stolen from me. I was at a restaurant, and I had it resting on the table. At some point during the meal, it vanished.

Good to read about unmasking #BitTorrent users from non-judge-issued subpoenas. Unfortunately, it seems like an ISP isn't forbidden to volunteer your information. This just clarifies that they can toss these requests, but they can also still fulfill these requests. Now I need to review what my state laws say on the matter... #hawaii

Hot take: I remember Panda Express being overpriced junk food. Now, because of inflation, it’s just junk food. Can totally overeat for under $13.

Probably because still original owners and private equity haven’t taken over and ruined them.

My apartment is wired with cat6, but I’m having difficulty figuring out where (or if there still is) a closet with a breadboard somewhere to wire up switch etc. Spectrum has some kind of monopoly agreement with the building, so maybe that’s why we are stuck with meh internet over cable? 😖
