my in-development #mastodon / #gotosocial app is looking pretty good on #iPhoneDuo already. Just some bad alignments on the left-side in Portrait mode. I'd like to do better for mixing posts with media/previews.
Love to read about #Uber losing bigtime with their own stacked binding arbitration. Even after losing they tried to force silence and a different settlement. What a bunch of dirtbags. #law

Can anyone tell me? Now that interest rates are going up. How long do I need to wait for Zillow numbers to go down? 😏

ah crap. 💩

Super weird. I just got a cold email from someone at IBM asking me to 'star' their project in the IBM namespace. It looks like an interesting project but it is totally not something I'd want to 'star'. 😑
I'll tell you what makes this interesting: this is software so AI Agents can control physical assets directly. Think HVAC systems... But at the same time manage physical assets that don't actually have a way for directly controlling them. Like you can't run tool from an AI and have trees trimmed or gutters cleaned. But sensors can be monitored and jobs can be dispatched to have reports filled out by meatbags (humans) so more work orders can be sent out.
So one of the arms of this MCP is creating, planning, scheduling, and approving work orders for humans to go out and make changes. That is, replace physical hardware or do a task.
This basically IBM amping up their existing software (Maximo) with AI.
Anyway, it is all Apache licensed which I guess is nice? or something?

Seems like prices all jumped like 10-15% in the last week at grocery store. 😮💨
Looks like a #Tesla is re-dominating the market again. The whole situation is a shame because #EV sales are down 30% as oil gets shoved down our throats in the US.
tl;dr: Now 52% of US EV sales are Tesla. Up from 43% last year.

This is a pretty awesome new feature for #systemd. I wonder how long to see it across the majority of #Linux distributions?

This is clearly #OpenAI and #Anthropic. 🤪

Since football season is back… little story: I was a big-time #NFL fan and followed the #Chargers as they were my local team (grew up in the Inland Empire between Los Angeles and San Diego). As a “Make-A-Wish” kid, there were some wealthy fans that would invite us to their luxury suites to watch the game.
But, as an adult, when the team left San Diego, it was a huge betrayal. I tossed my coats, shirts, jerseys, etc., into the trash. I basically enjoy a couple of things with the NFL now: the 49ers and Patriots losing. Honestly, enjoying a negative isn’t enough to maintain a fan. I’ll watch the Super Bowl if someone invites me to a party. But otherwise, I’m at best a passive follower of the sport nowadays.
After parking in a compact space and squeezing out of my vehicle, I started walking to the restaurant where I was meeting a friend. A man in the car next to me called out, “Hey, did you hit my car?” I said, “Nope. Didn’t hit your car,” thinking it was just a question he had. Then I continued.
Returning to my car after dinner, I had a passive-aggressive note stating I hit his car, and although no damage could be found, I should have been apologetic and admitted my fault.

I should have offered to show him the doors’ first detent position rested ~2” from his vehicle. I’m not a large person, so squeezing out was a routine maneuver for parking in Honolulu.
There is not going to be an #AI slowdown. Politically, politicians want to be hard on China and that means this is their manhattan project. If you’re anti-ai then probably best strategy is to just not let the government bail them out when they run out of money.

This review of OpenRouter.ai is pretty amazing. So many providers seem to be extremely sloppy/bad or just outright fraud? It's interesting I see #DigitalOcean in the mix and they are consistently serving up garbage results! #LLM #OpenRouter #AI

Ran across a fun #StarTrek parody set in #StarTrekTNG universe. I don't think all fans will appreciate it though...

Just stumbled across MicroStrategy selling custom Nike Air-Jordan inspired leather #Bitcoin shoes for $250 on their web store… but only regular money is accepted. So one of the largest Bitcoin companies won’t accept Bitcoin? Do they not see the irony here? 🤪
In true #crypto garbage fashion… they are generic rip offs. They didn’t pay Nike for a collaboration.

Every #Apple event the comments always flow in favor of small #iPhone. It's a case of a very very loud minority. The iPhone mini peaked at about 3% of overall sales. Small is also extremely niche with Samsung and other manufacturers.

Seems #Finland, aka “Texas of Europe”, is getting many more #datacenters soon. #Google signed 22-year power agreement with Fortum.
“Pure DC said in July it would invest 1.5 billion euros ($1.74 billion) to build a 110-megawatt campus in Finland, with the potential to scale beyond 550 megawatts. Arcem has plans for a site with up to 500 megawatts capacity. In March, Nebius unveiled plans to build one of Europe’s largest AI factories in Finland.“

Every 1-2months the clowns 🤡 over at #Google or #YouTube do some website update on YouTube where Safari on iPad doesn’t work. Pressing play doesn’t work, navigation stalls… this is all with content blockers turned off. Just the default iPad Safari stops working for 1-2 days until a different clown notices. Anyway, can’t use YouTube today. 🤷🏼♂️
Sometimes a complete purge of cookies will work so I get a different A/B version of whatever trash ci/cd is available. But today isn’t one of those days.
