After parking in a compact space and squeezing out of my vehicle, I started walking to the restaurant where I was meeting a friend. A man in the car next to me called out, “Hey, did you hit my car?” I said, “Nope. Didn’t hit your car,” thinking it was just a question he had. Then I continued.
Returning to my car after dinner, I had a passive-aggressive note stating I hit his car, and although no damage could be found, I should have been apologetic and admitted my fault.

I should have offered to show him the doors’ first detent position rested ~2” from his vehicle. I’m not a large person, so squeezing out was a routine maneuver for parking in Honolulu.

@bryan I’ve experenced Hawaiian driving and they give Italians a run for the money. Surprised everyone’s not driving a dinged up beater over there, like in Naples. I’ve returned 3 damaged rental cars, through no fault of my own. In one case the valet did it and gaslighted me about it. Always buy the full insirance package in Italy.
There’s a euro car(Citroen C4 “Cactus”) that has giant rubber pads on the doors. While it looks goofy af, sure is practical for the size of the parking spots here.
