I think something very annoying about #mastodon is there isnβt a universal rich text format. I have better control of the look of text in #iMessageβ¦
I guess it isnβt an easy thing to fix. Even declaring a bunch of html tags are ok would run into other limitations like post sizes being limit to 500 characters. Itβs an endless onion of things that would need to get tweaked so I can make something <b>bold</b>?

@bryan Ha! None. I used a web page that converts to varying styles. Iβd love to see some rich text native to Mastodon, bit I also fear it would be horribly abused, like any web forum that allowed it.

@bryan Every time I leave alt-text off an image, some lonely twat will set down the Mountain Dew long enough to scold me for not considering the blind in my posts. With the unicode, this supposedly breaks text to speech. When the author of Mastodon released the first official client, thin on features, this same group of interlosers ganged up on the author, ad hominem, for not including everything for everyone, everywhere all at once, for free.
