back to top@bryan That was a BIG shift for me. I wasn’t a huge Mac guy and the OS up through 9 didn’t do it for me. I was/am a big fan of the NEXT interface having had a chance to play with one and trying to get whatever Linux distro I was fiddling with at the tine to replicate it. I bought one of those turquoise iMacs and that was that. Have an m4 mini now, and it’s not my daily driver. Windows laptop, for work, is most of my computer use. Outside that, iPad.
@Unabart I got a Mac mini M4 also. I regret not getting the Mac Studio. Hopefully the M5 stuff lands soon. I might go Ultra. I daily drive macOS so I want fast fast fast.
@bryan I have a feeling Apple will meet your demands. Just barely. That’s how they keep their claws in ya! Keep em wanting more. I don’t like the price gouging on adding more storage or ram. The planned obsolescence is wasteful. And that os26 liquid glass hasn’t grown on me, like it was supposed to. Especially on my ipad, where it’s bugs a plenty. But the idea that I’d proactively choose Windows or Android is laughable. Linux could be a winner but the community can’t agree on the simplest shit.
@Unabart
For me, it’s really weird some distros are against AI patches or help. Linus is accepting AI patches in the kernel, but a distro or software ecosystem wants to have a policy against AI? Huh? 🤨
