jump to repliesJust read more about #NetBird and excited there is a totally #opensource alternative to #Tailscale. I think I need to wait for Tailscale to do something stupid before switching though. Need that outrage energy to rebuild everything with a new system.

New Tailscale UI forced in #macOS is so terrible I might need to migrate. Really unbelievable how annoying and obtrusive this is. They made a whole insane blog post about it:

back to top@bryan How did I NOT know about this before?! Might switch this weekend…
@bryan@dusty.ninja I'm happy with Headscale, but I can see the appeal of netbird. My feeling though is that it is tricky to install in a machine that already has some services
Feel ya. I was so upset about all the solutions I've evaluated, I just rolled my own:

Happy switching! Somewhen. 😉
@bryan
After some real basic remote access use cases I tried tailscale for a while and after checking out netbird coz it felt more batteries included and more customisations through UI and of course it's fully self hostable and open source.
But I still follow the release notes of tailscale on their new releases.
