I saw an older man driving a Chevrolet Astro minivan in a parking lot. It looked like it was in very good condition. The paint and trim were perfect, and that is unusual for #Hawaii - especially an older vehicle. The engine still sounded like it was about to die… so same as when they leave the factory floor.
It was like seeing a unicorn to have one survive to 2026. Maybe he has the last model year: 2005. That’s still 21 years old.
Update! I happened to see the older man in the Chevrolet Astro at a 7-11 off School St. When approaching and asking if it was his Astro - his friend quickly yelled out“we call him Astronaut”! Owner said it runs perfectly and has not had any problems. I congratulated him on keeping it great condition and I rarely see them on road anymore. Just a fading memory from childhood. This is his 3rd Astro and it is a 2003 model. I can’t believe I forgot to snap a pic twice now…
