jump to repliesAbout once a month, we receive a false alarm for a fire in the 40-story apartment building where I live. We’ve grown accustomed to the alarms, and none of us react anymore. I can’t help but feel a sense of dread about this becoming a tragic event in the future. 😒

back to top@bryan That's waaay too often, how about every 6 months or once a year? It does sound like people wouldn't care/react if something did actually burn 🤔
@graves501
One of the alarms was a kitchen fire that was put out quickly by tenants but still set off the building alarm.
I’ve been here since August and have probably had 8 different alarms go off with only that kitchen fire above being “real”. Seems like a bad system.
It’s my first time living in such a big building. Maybe this is normal? 🤷🏼♂️
