Looking forward to future ram glut from overproduction. We’ll all be able to have 1-2TB of ram on our desktops. Maybe even ECC will be in style again. 😎

@bryan I suspect the form factors are less likely to be compatible with home-scale compute. Data center for an org, probably.
Though ... maybe it will cause a boom in consumer boards compatible with the glut!

Tried looking for some solid chart about memory prices, but it’s not easy as the density of memory has also gone up…
Anyway, I wrote this thinking about the time I bought the maximum memory for my gaming desktop for like $120 in 2008. I think my new issue was that Windows 32bit couldn’t technically see all the RAM, but I just didn’t care. I had 4GB I believe… been too long ago to clearly remember.
Nowadays, 4GB is too little for even my phone.
