@bryan Something I missed about either Debian or Ubuntu or just personal preference / time for something new?*

I originally spun up Ubuntu 14.04 11 years ago in DO (self-hosting random stuff) I’ve upgraded every other LTS and slowly moved to running containers.
Just new 💩 to try.
@bryan Clear 👍 Should try as well, see how Debian developed over the last years. Whenever this magic moment of "have time" happens 😂

I couldn’t stand Debian because everything was always old. The cycle always seems too long for a new versions. Postfix, dovecot, python, perl, php, etc… But now that I just containerize everything I don’t need to care about the packages in the distribution as much. Just need a stable kernel and base OS that gets out of the way. I shouldn’t see much difference than Ubuntu.
Wouldn’t be surprised if I’m back on Ubuntu next LTS release. 🤷🏼♂️
@bryan that was my reasoning as well, a long time ago. But the time of actually using the host OS is long gone indeed. Good with your trials anyway!
