My wife got talked into trying some #durian. We each had a piece, and it’s actually good. But damn, it smells like farts and gasoline to me. Once you’re actually chewing it, the smell goes away, but as soon as you’re done, it comes right back.

I’d describe the experience as having a great dessert at an outdoor café, except every now and then a gust from an open sewer blows through. You can’t help but wonder why they don’t just move somewhere else.

Now starting to worry that I won’t be able to smell it but I’ll walk around town and people will think I have 💩 in my pants or something. #Hawaii

I honestly think Content Warnings on the #Fediverse are overused to the point that they’re useless. People will put their Docker setup or a recipe behind a Content Warning for some reason. I’ve configured my client to ignore those warnings and always show posts. But every once in a while, my #Phanpy cookies are lost and my settings reset… and I’m reminded how useless CWs are. #ContentWarnings

Now kicking myself for not ordering a #Mac Studio Ultra last week. I could have just cancelled if I changed my mind between now and OCTOBER when it was expected to ship… 🤦🏼‍♂️.

When I first kicked this off a week ago, I expected to be posting WAY more about it, but life has most definitely gotten in the way.

But work continues on my game, Headlights, around family and work work. I'm wrestling with drawing intersections and traffic signals (both a nice visual and also an important obstacle) and hope to have a new video soon.

Thanks to those who have backed the project and the many more who have shared it and a sent kind words.

I think beta2 of #macOS Golden Gate might have some kind of problem with appstoreagent. It’s just eating cpu with dasd and analyticsd.

Maybe indexing is just rebuilding again?

Took daughter to paddle boats today. Guy at the stand tells me “you need to leave a deposit”. I’m confused so I’m like I’m sorry but we gotta switch to English.

“You need to leave something here so we know you’ll return the boat. Like your house keys”. These are giant plastic paddle boats. I’m not sure how I would steal it even if I wanted to.

“Look man I’m gonna be real with you. I’m gonna forget you have these keys in five minutes.” He’s like no way man, we got a system. We have your phone number so we’ll call you if you leave them. Also I’m going to hand them back to you when you dock.

Go on the water, have a great time, forgot keys. Nobody calls me. End up at train station in Odense 30 minutes before train leaves. Grabs daughter and taxis across town, savoring the opportunity to say “leave the meter running” as I run out to grab keys.

Absolutely hilarious reaction from the kid when he sees me. “Oh no it happened didn’t it” as he sighs and sits down. Made me laugh so hard, this 19 year old being like “damn he called it”.

I think something very annoying about #mastodon is there isn’t a universal rich text format. I have better control of the look of text in #iMessage…

I guess it isn’t an easy thing to fix. Even declaring a bunch of html tags are ok would run into other limitations like post sizes being limit to 500 characters. It’s an endless onion of things that would need to get tweaked so I can make something <b>bold</b>?
