Well it’s 1:21am here and Instagram just fed me this reel. It’s basically a federal prison #consultant ad for those that want tips on navigating #prison life and getting out earlier.
Time to call it a night.
Good. Let's get back to memory glut!

Pretty good argument for just using #openrouter over a #LocalLLM. I think the math will change once all these AI providers stop burning VC money. Specifically, the author is looking at rounded-up utility and hardware pricing on #Apple Silicon.

😂 needs #Hawaii and #Maui visibility.

I shouldn’t be distracted with this kind of nonsense when I have plenty of apps needing some tlc to get out the door… that said…
I’ve been spending time trying to get rapid-mlx to work on the Mac mini. It’s supposed to be much faster than llama.cpp, but I’ve had nothing but problems. Hope it is just a learning curve on the right mix of parameters. Defaults definitely don’t seem to be dialed in like llama-server. #opencode #rapidmlx #llamacpp

For #USA residents, don’t forget to put a note in your calendar when security updates for your WiFi router stop. 🤪 #wifirouter

what to do with leaves
What to do with leaves, if one cannot leave them
Here beneath aspen, gum, maple and birch
As what they become in winter, a kind of skirt
To warm and feed fanned roots, is gather and
Toss them on a garden. She spreads hers
Over bed and path alike, with straw, with
Dead grass and weeds, barn bedding, the contents
Of kitchen bucket and tumble barrel, along
With any foliage that comes to hand, even prunings
If too small to bother with for her iron stove.
This is for worms and all their small companions
Heaving aside the earth of path and bed alike,
Leveling and loosening, making untilled tilth.
Evening comes and she stills, listening
As the city of humus thrums toward spring.
Very likely it's best to interfere not
Even this much in things, she tells herself, yet
She's always loved to tell her children: eat.

Sure AI codegen produces a gigantic volume of bad slop code, but at the same time, there are stories like this which show the positive impact that lowering the barrier to entry for software can have. It's why I don't see AI codegen as a clear cut black/white absolute-good/absolute-bad issue.
Imagine taking all of the best arguments against AI coding, and then telling them to this person’s uncle that those are the reasons why he shouldn’t have this tool. I wouldn't be able to do that.

@jnkrtech just curious if you were able to give away the motorcycle. Hope your move went well!
did u know, #systemd can now run #docker images natively, kinda
it's really nice
just needs two commands:
sudo importctl --class=machine pull-oci docker.io/library/alpine:latest alpine
sudo systemd-nspawn -M alpine /usr/bin/env sh -l
thank you @pid_eins, I've spent several days/weeks in the past implementing this myself with hoops calling system-nspawn with my own docker layer overlayfs/bindmounts. Really hyped replacing this with that work.
