Random figures I saw in some shops. Didn’t buy anything. I think the 1974 #Godzilla is cute. Wonder what happened that year…
Last day I’m in #Japan so weather is perfect. Rained every other day.
Unfortunately there is no way I can persuade you to watch this by quoting a particularly amusing moment, because there are so many particularly amusing moments that I can’t possibly choose one.
Here’s the paper, in case you’re more of a reader than a viewer: https://tom7.org/httpv/httpv.pdf
Finally finished my tax preparation and submitted estimated withdrawals to Feds and States (year of moving). My tax person will file an extension because apparently sending everything the day it’s due is late? Sheesh! 😂
Enjoying #Japan at the moment. Quick trip to Fukuoka with wife.
better to have followed and unfollowed than never to have followed at all
Stumbled across this and the #cringe is just too much not to share.

Burned about 4-5 days making posts with audio look cool in my Mastodon app (soon to be on TestFlight). These simple distractions are probably not what I should be focusing on. It's like adding a new dining car to a train when the brakes still don't work. Anyhow, here is a blog about making audio look cool:

Ah the first editor I always disable on a new install. Because vim ftw 🙌 https://floss.social/@9to5linux/116370150652448706
Vacation mode activated. Going to Korea and Japan for 3 weeks. This is being “paid for” via purchasing critical medicines I need in Korea that are basically unaffordable in the US! 😑
So, it turns out the German implementation of eIDAS (electronic ID wallet for e.g. age attestation) will require an Apple/Google account to function
Absolutely pathetic
I built a pure Swift XML parser (no DTD, external entity, transcoding support) at https://github.com/compnerd/xylem. Some informal testing indicated that it is faster than libxml2 and xmloxide, a rust port of libxml2.
Today we're sending the first black person & the first woman to the moon.
But I know that Dr. Mae Jemison was the first black woman to travel into space when she served as a mission specialist aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour in 1992.

Also, Jemison became the first real-life astronaut to appear on #StarTrek
Here's Jemison as Lt. Palmer in #StarTrekTNG episode Second Chances talking to Nichelle Nichols, Star Trek's Lt. Uhura, outside the set.

Age verification clearly doesn't belong into #systemd. We should have never merged this. Instead this should be incrementally added to the kernel itself. I'm doing my part:
