I didn’t even know “glass cloth” was a thing inside of chips. #TIL. It’s the new “no more memory available” problem #Apple, #AMD, #Qualcomm, and #Nvidia are having problems sourcing. (Although I think Apple and Nvidia are secure in memory department).

Tried to add my driver’s license to my #iPhone & #AppleWatch wallet. After a 3-week wait, I get a message with a generic “can’t verify your identity - contact DMV”.
I guess next time #starbucks employees should draw a snowflake. ❄️ https://ktla.com/news/local-news/starbucks-barista-fired-for-pig-drawing-on-deputys-cup/
Linus (creator of #linux and #git) writes about his #Vibecode project on GitHub. Even the master is a vibe-coder now!

According to my #AppleWatch, I had the best sleep of my life last night. It was a great sleep. 😊
Betterment sent email out from an unauthorized user promoting a #scam. I wonder if anyone fell for it. Seems like this is pretty bad unauthorized access and should be a bigger deal.
About once a month, we receive a false alarm for a fire in the 40-story apartment building where I live. We’ve grown accustomed to the alarms, and none of us react anymore. I can’t help but feel a sense of dread about this becoming a tragic event in the future. 😒
First week of 2026 done. Only 51 to go! 🫠

This #Lenovo laptop screen looks pretty cool. It rolls out to be a huge widescreen. Finally, a use for those bendable screens that doesn’t involve smartphones. But will it run #Linux? 🤔

Newly introduced #Samsung refrigerator seems like one of the most hellish nightmares to put in your kitchen. Voice-controlled door opening is the start of the features no one asked for but is the manufacturer’s highlight.

#Linux (ok technically #GNOME) wants to be more mainstream by removing good features. 😂
Bye-bye middle-click to paste! (maybe)

Shocking. Not one of these toasters at the top has an app, service, or internet connection to spy on me. Are you telling me people don’t want to download, register, and subscribe to a service to toast bread?! 🤯

Just past midnight and still full from dinner I finished 4 hours ago. A rare treat of unlimited #kbbq. Started off thinking 2 hours wasn’t enough time but I was about done after an hour… so so good.
Kind of have locations all over the place now.

"Duolingo Used iPhone's Dynamic Island to Display Ads, Violating Apple Design Guidelines"
I've already gotten pissed at Duolingo for some other reason I can't remember and deleted the app... so now I can't get angry and delete the app now.

Why It’s a Tough Time for House-Flippers
“It seems like a pretty easy way to get rich quick. But for every success story, there are many tales of flips gone bad.”

This looks like a fun #movie. The trailer is exciting enough that I’m setting myself up for disappointment…

#Disney #Marvel
The monkey paw on this is instead of 1 mobile browser (Safari/Webkit) that needs to be targeted on #iOS for web development, something like 8 are needed with 2-3 different JavaScript runtimes.
This actually will push more developers to make apps because the browser is no longer consistent. I remember as a non-decision maker, there was a sizable population of #Apple employees pushing to allow multiple browser engines to ruin the experience of the web in favor of apps in the App Store.
Primary objection of multiple browser engines was security. Apps get abandoned all the time and browsers are already a huge target. Privacy is the other: popular browsers like Chrome are purely built for surveillance of the user.

Update: 2026 still same as 2025. Maybe it will end better? 🤔 https://dusty.ninja/@bryan/statuses/01KDWCJX8B08XF6FCFNF62YN3C
I’m still stuck in 2025. One more hour of this nightmare. Can someone in 2026 let me know if it is better?
Thanks!
